Only online submission via the Internet using UMIN (University hospital Medical Information Network) is acceptable. You may check, modify, and delete your abstract as many times as you wish during the abstract submission period.
Please also read the description of the guide for the General Session.

AUTHOR
- The first author must be a member of the Japan Epidemiological Association (JEA) except for invited sessions.
- Membership number is required to submit an abstract. If you are not a member of the JEA, please complete the admission procedure. Please contact the Secretariat of the JEA (jea@jeaweb.jp) for membership information.
- If you have not paid the annual membership fee up to 2023, and please make sure to pay it by Friday, September 29, 2023.
PASSWORD
- Please decide on a password from 6 to 8 half-width characters in advance.
- For security reasons, we cannot respond to inquiries about passwords. Please be sure to remember your password.
REGISTRATION NOTIFICATION
- Registration notification will be sent to the e-mail address provided in the abstract submission form.
- If you do not receive an e-mail, please check the "Confirm/Revise" section, as the registered e-mail address may be incorrect.
- If you do not receive an e-mail for other reasons, or if you have trouble submitting your abstract, please contact the Secretariat of the 34th Annual Meeting of the JEA (jea34@convex.co.jp).
- Accepted abstracts will be posted on the website.
ETHICAL REVIEW CONFIRMATION
When registering an abstract for presentation at the Annual Meeting, the JEA confirms whether the abstract has been approved for ethical review per the "Ethical Guidelines for Life Sciences and Medical Research Involving Human Subjects" and/or other guidelines or whether ethical review is not required.
- Please note that if your research requires ethical review and has not been approved, you will not be able to register your abstract.
- We recommend that you prepare the information of Ethics review committee name, Approval date, and Approval No at hand before starting abstract submission, if your research requires ethical review.
- You should confirm whether or not an ethics review is required, or if necessary, and please make inquiries to the ethics review committee of your institution.
- The JEA does not make decisions on behalf of the researcher or the ethics review committee.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST (COI)
- The first author, on behalf of all co-authors, is required to declare his/her financial relationship with "companies or commercial organizations related to the presentation" for the past three years from the time of registration of the abstract.
- Please be sure to read the"Policy for Conflict of Interest in Epidemiological Research", JEA's Bylaws for the policy and use the "COI disclosure form"
- The first author is required, but co-authors are not required if there is no COI to be disclosed.
- If co-authors have COI, please combine the COI disclosure forms of the first author and all co-authors into a single PDF file.
- We recommend that you prepare the PDF file of COI disclosure forms before starting abstract submission.

- After completing the abstract submission, the COI submission form will come up. I am sorry that the COI submission form is only Japanese because of technical limitations. If you have difficulty uploading the COI form by the system, please send the COI disclosure form by e-mail to the Meeting Secretariat: jea34@convex.co.jp.
- Please refer to the "Example of declaration in slides" (JEA Format 1) and describe the COI status on your slides or posters at the time of presentation.

SUBMISSION SYSTEM
This submission system has been tested with the latest versions of Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Safari. For Safari, the system is compatible with ver. 2.0.3 (417.9.2) or later.
ABSTRACT FORMAT
- Tables and figures cannot be inserted into the body of the abstract.
- If you wish to include special characters, symbols, superscripts, subscripts, italics, bold, or underlines, please follow the instructions in the abstract submission section and enter HTML tags. In particular, please put the tag <BR> where you want to break the line.
- A maximum of 20 authors and 20 affiliated institutions can be registered.
- It is convenient to prepare the text of your abstract in advance using a word processing application and paste it into the abstract submission section. We also recommend that you save the abstract text on your computer.

CONFIRMATION AND REVISION
- After submitting your abstract, please be sure to check the "Confirm/Revise" section to ensure that it has been submitted correctly.
- The "Confirm/Revise" section allows you to revise or cancel your abstract after submission.
- The Secretariat will not proofread or revise your abstract.
- You will not be able to revise abstracts after the abstract submission deadline has passed.
- If you wish to cancel your abstract after the abstract submission deadline, please contact the Secretariat of the 34th Annual Meeting of the JEA (jea34@convex.co.jp).
